Alpha channel support?

Feb 20, 2009 at 9:59 AM
Has anyone able to include the support for alpha channel into the XNAnimation SkinnedModelBasicEffect.cs ?

There was discussion before http://forums.xna.com/forums/t/12194.aspx

Appreciate if someone has reference to code which show how to apply alpha effect to some of the MeshParts and not the others. Thanks.

namespace XNAnimation.Effects
{
    public class Material : IMaterial
    {
        private EffectParameter emissiveColorParam;
        private EffectParameter diffuseColorParam;
        private EffectParameter specularColorParam;
        private EffectParameter alphaParam;   // Missing?????
        private EffectParameter specularPowerParam;

2 - You can use any effect that you want instead of the SkinnedModelBasicEffect, so you can set your own effect that supports alpha blending. The SkinnedModelBasic effect does no support it, but you can download it from the XNAnimation source code, and modify to support alpha blending.

Is there a chance for a hint or if possible a tutorial? Thanks

I too, would appreciate any sample that shows how to do this.
