Motion capture

I am having this problem now with motion capture.

My animations are now done using motion capture instead of using key frames.
When i load the FBX file that motion builder exports into maya, The animation seems to be working fine however when i bring it
into the library the arms and certain body parts seem to fly around.

has anyone tried loading in motion capture data succesfully before???

We do it the following way with Motionbuilder:(assuming the model is rigged and modelled outside and in a FBX format)
  1. Load the exported FBX file via “file fbx plugin import”.
  2. Rename this take to something like “bind”.
  3. Make bones visible (cycle ^A).
  4. Put character in stance pose.
  5. Drag character template on hips (or any other bone).
  6. Activate control rig.
  7. Set playback/timeline to 30 frames per second, activate snap on frames.
  8. In character controls, load all animation files (file >> load character animation) with the following settings:
  9. Check anims (especially poses, meaning 1 frame anims).
  10. Plot anims to skeleton with the following settings:
  11. Delete the control rig.
  12. Select “bind” take.
  13. Save file (maybe to new name, as Control Rig got deleted…)
And that produces a FBX file XNA / XNAnimation can work with :)
Hope that helpes?
